Industrial Case Study

The Ensinger Group

The Ensinger Group is engaged in the development, manufacture and sale of compounds, semi-finished materials, composites, technical parts and profiles made of engineering and high-performance plastics.

Challenge

Plastic manufacturing exhaust air treatment to meet EPA requirements.

Solution

In 2005, a 7100 CFM Bioclimatic air-handling unit was installed to treat exhaust air from the manufacturing section of the building. It contained a filtration section (for removal of dust particles from the plastics processing) and a single stage of a specific gas phase media (selected for removal of fluoropolymer resin effluents including hydrofluoric acid). In 2018, the new 4000 CFM system was installed. This was designed to adsorb butyraldehyde, benzaldehyde and other VOCs prior to exhausting the air to atmosphere.
