Texas A&M University

Established in 1876, Texas A&M University is situated in College Station, Texas, is a renowned public research institution. It gained the distinction of being the primary university within the Texas A&M University System in 1948.

Challenge

Texas A&M installed AtmosAir at Kyle Field and specifically the Operations Offices and facilities. The goal was to improve indoor air quality by reducing particles, odors, and VOCs.

Solution

Air testing was performed to measure indoor air quality readings within the Operations Office.

Baseline air testing was done on 12/9-10/2019. Post air testing with AtmosAir systems operating, was done on 12/10-11/2019. No accommodations were made for the testing, occupant activities were carried out as typical.

The Gray Wolf Advanced Sense IQ-610 monitor along with a Gray Wolf PC-3016 particle counter was used to record and log the air testing results.

Results

Third party testing conducted at TAMU showed greater than 89% reductions in particles and greater than 40% reductions in VOCs. AtmosAir has since been adopted by Texas A&M and installed in many buildings on campus and satellite TAMU campuses. In specific buildings, TAMU has used AtmosAir as a means to intelligently reduce required ventilation.
