U.S. Bank Stadium
An indoor arena with an outdoor feel, U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota is the first indoor football stadium in the US to install a state-of-the-art AtmosAir air purification and monitoring system throughout every interior space.
“AtmosAir’s installation of the air treatment and air quality monitoring technologies to reduce energy, monitor the indoor environment proactively, and measurably improve indoor air quality, has created an improved fan and workforce experience and supported our stadium’s LEED Platinum accreditation for operations and maintenance.”
- Curtis Schmillen, Director of Operations, U.S. Bank Stadium
Challenge
To provide a healthier environment for players, staff, coaches, and fans by reducing bacteria, mold, and viruses.
Solution
AtmosAir Solutions’ technology operates throughout all air handlers and occupied spaces in the building to break down odors, VOCs, bacteria, mold and viruses.
One hundred and thirty-nine (139) AtmosAir BPI systems treat all of the supply air in the stadium. One hundred (100) systems alone treat the bowl air handlers.
In addition to continuous air purifcation, 50 AtmosAware IAQ sensors were strategically placed around the stadium to measure air quality and allow for continuous adjustments as needed.
Over the first 3-years of the project, AtmosAir helped US Bank Stadium reduce energy costs by $750,000.
In late 2019, the stadium also became the first professional sports stadium to earn LEED Platinum certification for operations and maintenance using the arc performance platform, attributable in part to the AtmosAir technology that reduces energy consumption.
