Challenge
To provide cleaner air for all guests and team members and to reduce smoke within the casino. They originally had a different air purification system which was not working properly, the casino did a pilot study with AtmosAir’s technology and were happy with the results.
Through a consulting engineer out of Colorado (http://g2ce.com/), AtmosAir was recommended to Atlantis in Reno. They had bad smoke and odor issues on their 65k sq ft gaming floor.
After checking with our references, and learning about the intelligent AtmosSmart system, they wanted to try a pilot in one air handling unit.
During the pilot they hired the Desert Research Institute Atmospheric Science and Chemistry team to independently measure results. Among other parameters they measured ozone, particles, and VOCs with AtmosAir off and with AtmosAir on. The testing went fantastic in the pilot space. This is important as DRI is the nonprofit research campus of the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE), the organization that oversees all publicly supported higher education in Nevada. In addition to measurable performance with the testing, the perceptual air quality improvement was noticed within days.
Solution
AtmosAir deployed (62) DBD BPI air purification systems through the casino for smoke reduction and improved air quality for guests.
After the pilot, they decided they wanted to move forward with all AHUs/RTUs serving the gaming space.
Atlantis has (15) fully integrated AtmosSmart intelligent systems that modulate bi-polar ionization based on air quality levels the AtmosSmart senses. The AtmosSmart system is also measuring and displaying 10 parameters of air quality continuously on their BMS.
